The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have beefed up their Canadian depth ahead of Friday’s clash with the Edmonton Elks.
Defensive back Robert Panabaker and fullback Daniel Bell, both of whom are core special teams contributors, are slated to make their return from injury this week. Panabaker has made eight total tackles in 10 games this year, while Bell has made 15 special teams tackles in 14 games.
The most substantial change has come along the offensive line, where rookie Brayden Szeman has been ruled out with an ankle injury after making the start at centre last week. Liam Dobson will bump over to handle snapping duties, while Nate Dumoulin-Duguay starts at right guard. Jakub Szott will dress as insurance.
Defensive back Ronan Horrall will spend this week on the reserve roster to make room for the new additions, while linebacker Jayden Griffiths has been demoted to the practice roster.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-11) will host the Edmonton Elks (11-4) on Friday, October 9, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Elks are coming off a bye week, while the Tiger-Cats won a relatively one-sided game over the lowly Ottawa Redblacks.
The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS2 in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 880 CHED in Edmonton and the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton.
