The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes have set their uniforms for the 110th Grey Cup in Hamilton.
As the home team, the Als got the first choice of which uniforms they’d wear and a club spokesperson indicated they’ve opted for their home look, featuring blue jerseys and blue pants. Coincidentally, Montreal wore their red alternate jerseys when they hosted the Blue Bombers during the regular season on Canada Day, losing by a score of 17-3.
Winnipeg will wear white uniforms with gold pants, the same combination they’ve worn for the past three Grey Cups. The look served them well in 2019 and 2021 when they defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in back-to-back championship games, though the club lost last year’s title contest to the Toronto Argonauts wearing the same look.
The 110th Grey Cup at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton has officially sold out with approximately 30,000 fans expected to be in attendance. The game is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 19 with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. EST. As of the publishing of this article, the weather forecast is sunny with a high of four degrees.
The Blue Bombers are significant favourites after sweeping the two-game regular season series against the Alouettes. Winnipeg doesn’t seem to be taking their counterparts lightly, however, as they weren’t surprised to see Montreal upset the Argos in the East Final.
