(Edmonton Football Team general manager) Brock Sunderland has gotten rid of so many great people like Adarius Bowman, Calvin McCarty, Dwayne Mandrusiak, and Almondo Sewell because they’re not his guys. I’d be worried about their locker room. People are calling them the ‘Edmonton Redblacks’ for a reason.

The thinnest position in the (2021 CFL) draft is receiver. Normally there are ten or twelve guys you could realistically see making a roster. This year there’s about five.

Zach (Collaros) deserves respect because he wins, but let’s be real — he’s going to do at least one stint on the six-game injured list this year. Him and Travis Lulay have made some killer money in this league while not playing.

Jordan Williams-Lambert is a tricky one. He was great in 2018 and I love his size, but the reality is if you’re that good you should produce and he did nothing (after re-signing with Saskatchewan following a stint with the Chicago Bears) in 2019. I’m curious to see what he does this year.

I think the smartest teams are the ones who think outside the box with their Canadians. The old school mentality is to draft a bunch of offensive linemen, but I’d rather take the really good pass rushers or running backs or corners because there’s no competition for them.

I don’t think Mike Reilly will be back in B.C. if he doesn’t make the playoffs this year. Winning isn’t all on him, obviously, but how can you be the highest-paid quarterback in the league if you miss the playoffs three years in a row?

(Recently retired Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ defensive back) Rico Murray was one of the most underrated players in the entire league. I never felt like he got the recognition he deserved.

I can’t remember the league ever being this geographic. Toronto’s really prioritized drafting and signing GTA talent and Montreal just added a ton of French-Canadians. Saskatchewan’s gotten in on it, too. Don’t be surprised if they sign (Saskatoon native and offensive lineman) Brett Boyko.
