The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released American defensive back Greg Junior.
The 27-year-old started the first two games of the season for Hamilton, making nine defensive tackles and one special teams tackle. He was subsequently demoted to the practice roster.
Junior was originally a sixth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars, 197th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft. He went on to play 10 games for the team across two years, recording 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one pass breakup.

He was waived by the Jaguars during training camp in 2024, later spending time on the practice rosters of the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. He attended training camp with the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos in 2025, but was released on both occasions.
The six-foot, 203-pound cornerback played collegiately for Ouachita Baptist University, suiting up in 43 career games and posting 128 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and 17 pass breakups. He earned first-team all-conference and Division II All-American honours as a senior, before receiving an invitation to the prestigious Senior Bowl all-star game. That helped him to become the first NFL Draft pick in OBU’s history.
