Canadian receiver Kaion Julien-Grant has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Edmonton Elks, per sources. TSN’s Farhan Lalji was the first to report.
The 28-year-old native of Toronto, Ont. was limited to 12 games last year with the Montreal Alouettes, catching 46 passes for 486 yards and one touchdown.
The six-foot, 210-pound target was originally a second-round pick in the 2019 CFL Draft out of St. Francis Xavier University. He has made 128 receptions for 1,656 yards and four touchdowns over 55 career CFL games with the Alouettes.
Pending free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the current window, which closes on Sunday, Feb. 9. Players can agree to terms on a contract with a particular team, however, the deals are not legally binding and can’t be made official until after free agency opens on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Barring anything unforeseen, Julien-Grant is expected to join the Elks once free agency officially opens next week. He was originally 3DownNation‘s fifth-ranked pending free-agent receiver.
