The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American receiver Rashod Owens, American defensive lineman Kendy Charles, and American linebacker Ja’Kobe Clinton, the team announced on Tuesday.
Owens joined the Roughriders in August but didn’t see any regular-season action. He began the season on the Calgary Stampeders’ practice roster, but was released in July. He made four catches for 59 yards in the preseason, all of which came in the team’s second exhibition game.
The native of San Antonio, Texas played collegiately at Oklahoma State University, where he made 120 receptions for 1,771 yards and 10 touchdowns in 52 games.
Charles has been with Saskatchewan since the start of the 2025 season, though he never dressed for a regular-season game.
The six-foot, 287-pound defender finished his collegiate career at Duke University in 2024, recording 50 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup, and one quarterback pressure over 13 games. The native of Orange Park, Fla. was named second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference.
Clinton attended training camp with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers earlier this year and played two preseason games, recording two defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, and one sack.
The six-foot-two, 230-pound defender finished his collegiate career at the University of West Florida, where he was named the Gulf South Conference’s top defensive player and a first-team All-American in 2025. He tallied 78 defensive tackles, 19 tackles for loss, seven sacks, seven pass deflections, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 12 games.
The Florida native is the younger brother of longtime NFL defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
