Edmonton Elks quarterback Cody Fajardo unlocks multiple $10,000 bonuses

Edmonton Elks’ quarterback Cody Fajardo has hit one $10,000 bonus each in the last two weeks.

Entering Week 16, the 34-year-old needed 295 combined passing and rushing yards versus the Toronto Argonauts to unlock a $10,000 bonus for 4,300 all-purpose yards. He completed 31-of-42 passes (73.8 percent) for 360 yards with two interceptions and rushed 12 times for 63 yards, plus one major.

After passing for three touchdowns against the Calgary Stampeders in Week 15, Fajardo unlocked a $10,000 bonus for 25 total touchdowns in 2026.

Fajardo has a $7,000 bonus available if he stays in the top four for CFL passing yards. Through 14 regular-season games, he sits third with 4,141 yards. Chad Kelly is first (4,777), while Davis Alexander at second (4,414), Trevor Harris at fourth (4,124), and Nathan Rourke at fifth (3,476) round out the top five.

When Fajardo re-signed with the Elks in December, he agreed to a deal worth $395,500 in hard money with $447,500 as his maximum value. He has earned $431,055.54 so far in 2026. If the six-foot-one, 215-pound QB wins the three-down league’s Most Outstanding Player award, that would give him a $5,000 bonus.

The 2023 Grey Cup MVP has completed 69.7 percent of his passes with 23 touchdowns against nine interceptions, while rushing 67 times for 377 yards and four majors along the ground. He’s already set a new single-season career-high with 23 TD passes and needs 162 passing yards to post his best year through the air.

Fajardo led the CFL in passing yards (4,302) in 2019 on his way to being named the West Division Most Outstanding Player and league all-star quarterback. Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver and returner Brandon Banks beat him out for the MOP award that year.

After becoming Edmonton’s starter partway through last season, Fajardo has led the Elks to a 10-4 win-loss record, first place in the West Division.
