Riley Green to perform 113th Grey Cup halftime show

Country musician Riley Green will perform the halftime show at the 113th Grey Cup, the CFL announced on Thursday morning.

The 37-year-old native of Jacksonville, Ala. previously played quarterback at Jacksonville State University before pursuing a career in music. He has had six No. 1 hits on Canadian country radio, including three-time Platinum “There Was This Girl,” and the six-time Platinum “Worst Way.” He recently released his fourth studio album, That’s Just Me.

“We’ve spent a lot of time touring across Canada over the past several years, and the fans up there have always shown up for us in a big way,” said Green in a statement.

“I’m excited to finally get to experience a Grey Cup and be part of the energy surrounding it. Getting to perform at halftime in front of that crowd is going to be a hell of a time, and a pretty special way to wrap up what’s been a really wild year!”

Sarah McLachlan will perform ‘O Canada,’ Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo will give a special guest performance, and the James Barker Band will perform during the pregame festivities. As previously announced, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will also make the final flight at the game.

“From national treasures to global stars, this year’s Grey Cup entertainment lineup reflects what makes the CFL special: homegrown excellence, world-class talent and a uniquely Canadian celebration on our biggest stage,” said CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston.

The 113th Grey Cup is scheduled for Sunday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast live on TSN, CTV, RDS, and Crave in Canada, and internationally on CFL+. Tickets are still available.
