Harrison Frost will start at quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats when they host the Montreal Alouettes this week, head coach Scott Milanovich announced on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old passer has gone 1-1 as a starter in Steeltown this season. He has completed 58.8 percent of his passes for 734 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions.
The six-foot-one, 194-pound passer rejoined the Tiger-Cats in July after a stint with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL. He has completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 829 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions over 25 career CFL regular-season games.
Tre Ford, who was a limited participant in practice earlier this week, has made a full recovery from the head injury he suffered prior to Hamilton’s bye week.
“Tre has been cleared now, so he’s healthy,” Milanovich told the media in Hamilton. “We’ll have to see whether or not we have a package for him as well.”
Ford completed four-of-nine pass attempts for 75 yards in the team’s recent loss to the Toronto Argonauts. He suffered the head injury on a 23-yard touchdown run late in the first half and did not return for the second half.
The dual-threat passer has completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 1,293 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions this season. He has also rushed 38 times for 419 yards and one score.
The Tiger-Cats have already lost twice to Montreal this season.
The teams met at Hamilton Stadium in Week 1, where the Alouettes won 30-27, and again at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Week 8, where Montreal won 31-18.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-9) will host the Montreal Alouettes (10-3) at Hamilton Stadium on Friday, September 18 with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT. Last week, the Alouettes lost 48-29 in a gritty game against the B.C. Lions, while the Tiger-Cats were on bye.
