The Toronto Argonauts are releasing linebacker Nakas Onyeka, per source.

The Brampton native was a fifth-round selection of the team in 2017. He has recorded 44 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 36 career games.

The 25-year-old is the cousin of a pair of CFL players in Redblacks’ defensive end Kene Onyeka and Eskimos’ defensive back Godfrey Onyeka.

Toronto has added a number of national linebackers this off-season, including Nick Shortill, Boseko Lokombo, Chris Ackie, and second-round pick Jack Cassar.
