Ottawa Redblacks sign three

The Ottawa Redblacks have signed three American players to their practice roster, including running back Ricky Person Jr., offensive lineman Christian Coulter, and defensive back Ahmari Harvey. The team made the announcement on Tuesday.

Person Jr. played 21 regular-season games over three seasons with the Birmingham Stallions, where he rushed for 690 yards and 12 touchdowns, and caught 20 passes for 157 yards. He helped the team win a USFL championship in 2023 and a UFL title in 2024.

The six-foot, 200-pound ball-carrier played collegiately at North Carolina State University, where he rushed for 1,979 yards, caught 57 passes for 482 yards, and scored 18 touchdowns. The native of Wake Forest, N.C. also had brief NFL stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks.

Coulter most recently played with the Vegas Knighthawks in the Indoor Football League. The six-foot-five, 300-pound blocker finished his collegiate career at Western Carolina University, where he made 32 starts at left guard and right tackle. The native of Thomson, Ga. previously played at Tusculum University.

Harvey went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft but has since had stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Miami Dolphins. The six-foot, 195-pound native of Tallahassee, Fla. played 43 collegiate games at Georgia Tech, where he recorded 121 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and seven pass breakups.

The Redblacks (0-13) host the Calgary Stampeders (6-8) on Saturday, September 26 with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met at McMahon Stadium last week, where Rene Paredes kicked a 62-yard game-winning walk-off field goal.

The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS2, CTV, and Crave in Canada, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 770 CHQR in Calgary or TSN 1200 in Ottawa.
