B.C. Lions release former Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Dejon Allen

The B.C. Lions have released American offensive lineman Dejon Allen.

The 32-year-old had appeared in all five of B.C.’s games in 2026, starting each of them at right tackle.

Allen was originally acquired via trade by the Lions last offseason but missed 13 games in 2025 with a torn bicep suffered in Week 3. He returned for two games late in the season, but was unable to participate in the playoffs.

The six-foot-three, 300-pound blocker was named an East Division all-star for three straight seasons with the Toronto Argonauts at right tackle, helping the team win the Grey Cup in 2022 and 2024. The native of Compton, Cal., also earned All-CFL honours in 2023 and 2024, and was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2023.

Allen played collegiately at the University of Hawai’i and first signed with the Argonauts in 2021 after stints with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and the XFL. He has played 68 career regular-season CFL games

The B.C. Lions (1-4) will host the Toronto Argonauts (2-4) at BC Place Stadium on Saturday, July 25, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Argonauts lost to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week after Lirim Hajrullahu missed a potential walk-off game-winning field goal, while the Lions failed in their comeback bid against the Edmonton Elks.

The weather forecast in Vancouver calls for a high of 22 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS2 in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally.
