The Montreal Alouettes have signed American receiver Charleston Rambo.
The six-foot-one, 177-pound went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami. He signed with the Carolina Panthers but was waived upon the conclusion of training camp and signed with the Orlando Guardians of the XFL.
Rambo was granted his release from Orlando to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles in May 2023. He participated in training camp with the team but was waived with an injury designation on Aug. 6 and released with an injury settlement the following month.
The native of Cedar Hill, Texas caught 79 passes for 1,172 yards and seven touchdowns during his final collegiate season with the Hurricanes and was named second-team All-ACC. He previously played at the University of Oklahoma where he made 76 catches for 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns over 29 games.
The Alouettes will open the 2024 season on June 6 when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium for a Grey Cup rematch.
