The Saskatchewan Roughriders are looking for a new radio play-by-play voice, according to an internal memo obtained by 3DownNation.

Harvard Media and Saskatchewan Roughriders announce an evolution of our Riders partnership. We are beginning a search for a new voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

We appreciate Michael Ball’s 25-plus years of service to Harvard Media, the community and most recently in his capacity of the “voice of the Riders” over the past two seasons.

The memo indicates that Ball could continue in his role as host of ‘The Sportscage’ the station’s daily sports show.

The Regina native became the voice of the Riders ahead of the 2022 season, taking over from Derek Taylor, who left to become the voice of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on CJOB. Ball called games for the University of Regina Rams for 16 years prior to taking on the role.

Ball did not immediately reply to 3DownNation’s request for comment, nor did the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
