The Montreal Alouettes are headed back to the Grey Cup after defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33-23 in the East Final.
After trailing 23-10, the Bombers staged a late comeback to bring the margin within three late in the fourth quarter. Tyrice Beverette stole back momentum with a strip-sack of Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros, and Tyler Snead sealed the victory with a spectacular touchdown catch.
Quarterback Davis Alexander completed 23-of-35 passes for 373 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, while rushing five times for 25 yards. Tyson Philpot caught nine passes for 129 yards, and Charleston Rambo had three catches for 117. Stevie Scott III and Donald Ventrelli added the other touchdowns.
The Alouettes went 14-4 this season, earning first place in the East Division. Alexander won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player award, while Philpot was named Most Outstanding Canadian.
Montreal reached the Grey Cup in 2025, but came up short against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. They won their eighth CFL title as a franchise in 2023, when they upset the Bombers.
The 113th Grey Cup is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, in Calgary, Alta. Kickoff from McMahon Stadium will be at 6:00 p.m. ET.
