Bart’s back: CFL connections on The Spring League rosters

The Spring league announced their four-team rosters on Tuesday and there is some CFL flavour to the line ups.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats neg lister Johnny Manziel is on the South roster along with former Ticats quarterback Cody Keith. Lache Seastrunk, who had stints with the Stampeders, Riders and Bombers is at running back. Reciever Greg Childs spent a few weeks with the Argos in 2014.

West head coach Bart Andrus was the Argos bench boss for one terrible season in 2009 when Toronto was 3-15 and he was fired that December. He’s been out of coaching since 2014. Austin Apodaca was in Bombers training camp in 2017. Bryan Scott was in mini-camp with the Lions last year.

Former second-round NFL draft pick Stephen Hill who was in Toronto for training camp in 2017 and will play for East. Offensive lineman Quinterrius Eatmon played two games for Hamilton last season. North quarterback Quinn Epperly was in signed by the B.C. Lions last September.

The Spring League, which charges players to participate, will run from March. 28 to April 13 and feature four games: two on April 7th and two more on April 12.
