Tre Ford’s game ended early on Monday, as he left the Labour Day Classic at halftime due to a head injury and did not return.
The 28-year-old completed four-of-nine pass attempts for 75 yards in two quarters of action. He also scored a 23-yard rushing touchdown for the Tiger-Cats.
Ford was assessed for an injury after his head struck the turf early in the second quarter but remained in the game until halftime.
“He had his bell rung and had some lingering complications. I don’t think it’s real serious — well, I guess anytime it’s your head, it’s serious — but I don’t think it was a real bad concussion,” head coach Scott Milanovich told the Ticats Audio Network postgame.
“He went back in the game for a little while after that. We’ll monitor him and do what’s best for him and his health.”
The native of Niagara Falls, Ont. has now thrown for 1,293 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions through 13 regular-season games this year. He has also rushed for 419 yards and one score.
Ford was replaced under centre by Harrison Frost, who made two starts earlier this season prior to suffering a back injury.
The 27-year-old completed 16-of-28 pass attempts for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during the second half. He has now thrown for 734 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions over eight regular-season games in 2026.
The Toronto Argonauts won the game by a score of 37-22 at Hamilton Stadium on Monday, marking their second-straight victory in the Labour Day Classic.
