Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign Canadian Jayden Griffiths

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed national linebacker Jayden Griffiths.

The 24-year-old Griffiths last played with the Ottawa Redblacks after being selected in the seventh round, 60th overall in the 2025 Canadian Football League Draft. He appeared in 18 regular season games with Ottawa and registered one defensive tackle along with five special-teams stops.

Griffiths was a standout linebacker at Wilfrid Laurier University. He recorded 75 tackles, seven deflected passes, 1.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery over the course of his four-year career with the Golden Hawks.

The Ticats (3-5) travel to British Columbia to take on the Lions (2-5) on Saturday, August 8 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT. Hamilton is coming off a 44-20 loss to the Calgary Stampeders in Week 9, while the Leos upset the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 35-19 in the Manitoba capital.
