Jeremiah Masoli will be under centre for the Ottawa Redblacks when they take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday afternoon, according to TSN radio play-by-play man AJ Jakubec.
The 36-year-old native of San Francisco, Calif. came on in relief of Dru Brown this past week and completed 17-of-26 pass attempts for 218 yards and one touchdown in a 24-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes. Brown did not practice on Tuesday due to an ankle injury.
Masoli made one start for the Redblacks earlier this season, leading the team to a 31-29 victory over the Calgary Stampeders in Week 11. He completed 27-of-35 pass attempts for 254 yards and one touchdown in the win while also recording two carries for 17 yards.
The five-foot-ten, 215-pound passer has thrown for 655 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions over eight games this season and rushed for times for 25 yards. This will be his first game in Regina since he suffered a fractured leg on an illegal hit from defensive tackle Garrett Marino in 2022.
Over 121 career CFL games, Masoli has thrown for 17,330 yards, 86 touchdowns, and 56 interceptions.
The Ottawa Redblacks (8-5-1) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-7-1) on Saturday, Sept. 28 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT.
