Seattle Seahawks sign Hamilton Tiger-Cats CFL Draft pick Malick Meiga: sources

The Seattle Seahawks have signed Canadian receiver Malick Meiga, per sources.

Meiga worked out for the Seahawks on Tuesday and inked his contract on Wednesday. He’s on the commissioner’s exempt list while working through getting his work visa sorted and then he’ll begin practicing with the team.

The six-foot-three, 205-pound target, represented by Montreal-based agent Nathaniel Thomas, attended training camp with Carolina until he was waived with an injury designation. He recorded one reception for 13 yards in the Panthers 33-30 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game.

Meiga went unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Coastal Carolina University, registering 26 catches for 326 yards and one touchdown over 23 games.

The Ivory Coast native, who was raised in Saint Jerome, Que., originally attended Penn State University, posted nine grabs for 106 yards and one touchdown over 28 games with the Nittany Lions. He also contributed on special teams, notching nine tackles.

The 25-year-old Meiga ran an official 4.43-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March, though multiple scouts timed him in the 4.3-range. He also recorded 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 4.34-second shuttle, a 7.10-second three-cone drill, a 36.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot, six-inch broad jump.

His Canadian Football League rights belong to Hamilton after the Tiger-Cats selected him in the second round, 14th overall during the 2026 CFL Draft.
