The Calgary Stampeders have released American defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile and American defensive back Devin Grant, the team announced on Thursday.
Laulile made nine starts with the B.C. Lions in 2025 and recorded 10 defensive tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. The six-foot-three, 288-pound native of Riverside, Calif. has previously been a member of the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and several spring league teams. He played collegiately at BYU.
Grant played 22 collegiate games over two seasons at Syracuse University, where he tallied 85 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven pass knockdowns, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three sacks, and one interception. The six-foot-three, 221-pound native of Flushing, N.Y. had a recent stint with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent but was released at the conclusion of training camp.
Neither player saw regular-season action with the Stampeders this year. Laulile and Grant were both added to the practice roster during Calgary’s expanded practice roster window, which has now closed.
The Calgary Stampeders (8-9) will host the B.C. Lions (10-6) on Saturday, October 17 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The Lions knocked off the Ottawa Redblacks this past week, while the Stampeders lost a close game to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver or 770 CHQR in Calgary.
