The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian receiver Vyshonne Janusas, the team announced on Monday.
The five-foot-eleven, 229-pound target was originally a fifth-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft out of the University of Guelph. He played 10 regular-season games as a rookie with the Calgary Stampeders, making two catches for 14 yards.
The native of Windsor, Ont. started Calgary’s first two regular-season games in 2026 and caught two passes for 12 yards. He then spent five weeks on the team’s practice roster before being released late last month.
Janusas caught 71 passes for 1,010 yards and eight touchdowns over 16 collegiate games with the Gryphons, and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2024. He also returned 30 kickoffs for 800 yards and one touchdown.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-2) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (3-6) at Hamilton Stadium on Saturday, August 15 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Roughriders easily beat the Ottawa Redblacks last week, while the Tiger-Cats suffered a narrow loss to the B.C. Lions.
The weather forecast in Hamilton calls for 24 degrees and sun. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 620 CKRM in Regina or the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton.
