Ontario University Athletics unveils 2026 football schedule

Ontario University Athletics (OUA) has unveiled its schedule for the 2026 football season.

Some key matchups to watch for are Saturday, August 29, when Laurier and Guelph play a rematch of last year’s OUA semifinal, Saturday, October 10, when Windsor and Queen’s meet in a rematch of the other semifinal, and Sunday, October 4, when Ottawa and Carleton clash in the annual Panda Game. Notably, Laurier and Queen’s, the schools that met in last year’s Yates Cup, do not play during the regular season.

OUA quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, October 31, the semifinals are set for Saturday, November 7, and the 118th Yates Cup is slated for Saturday, November 14.

Some notable CFL players who played collegiately in the OUA include Hamilton quarterback Tre Ford (Waterloo), Hamilton receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. (Laurier), Saskatchewan receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker (Guelph), Hamilton receiver Kiondre Smith (Guelph), Winnipeg receiver Tommy Nield (McMaster), Winnipeg defensive tackle Cameron Lawson (Queen’s), Ottawa linebacker A.J. Allen (Guelph), Edmonton defensive back Tyrell Ford (Waterloo), B.C. defensive back Jackson Findlay (Western).
