Canadian offensive lineman Darius Bell performed for CFL and NFL scouts at East Carolina University’s pro day on Tuesday.
Per sources, the six-foot-four, 303-pound blocker ran the forty-yard dash in the 5.5-second range, though one scout clocked him as fast as 5.47. He also recorded a 4.72-second shuttle, 7.80-second three-cone drill, 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 27-inch vertical jump, and an eight-foot, six-inch broad jump.
Relative to the 13 offensive linemen at the 2025 CFL Combine, Bell would have finished third in the bench press, fourth in the three-cone drill, fifth in the broad jump, and near the middle of the pack in the forty-yard dash and vertical jump.
The native of Hamilton, Ont. was a four-year collegiate starter after redshirting at the University of Maine in 2021.
The 23-year-old started for the Black Bears at right guard in 2022 before moving to left tackle in 2023. He transferred to East Carolina in 2024 and started at left guard before moving to centre in 2025. In total, he played 39 collegiate games and made 34 starts.
Per sources, five CFL teams attended the pro day, including the B.C. Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Bell was recently projected as a first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft by 3DownNation. He is the No. 12-ranked prospect on the scouting bureau rankings.
The CFL announced on Monday that Bell would not participate in testing or on-field drills at this week’s Combine in Edmonton and will only conduct interviews with teams.
East Carolina has produced many current CFL players, including Ottawa Redblacks receiver Justin Hardy, Montreal Alouettes receiver Tyler Snead, Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive lineman Stanley Bryant, and Toronto Argonauts defensive back DaShaun Amos. Jordan Williams, the first-overall pick in the 2020 CFL Draft, also played collegiately for the Pirates.
The 2026 CFL Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
