The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian defensive back Adrian Greene to a contract extension through 2028. He was already under contract for the 2026 season.

The six-foot, 189-pound defender started 13 regular-season games for the Stampeders at field-side cornerback in 2025, earning an All-West Division selection. He recorded 39 defensive tackles, six interceptions, three pass knockdowns, and two touchdowns. Greene also made one defensive tackle in the West Semi-Final, which he also started.

“I’m grateful to continue this journey with the Stampeders and to make Calgary my home for a while,” said Greene in a statement.

“I take pride in what we’re building here and to keep growing as a leader for this defence. I’m excited to keep making plays for our team and our fans; their support means everything. We’re working towards something big, and I’m committed to elevating my game and helping bring a championship back to this city.”

The native of Toronto, Ont. was originally a fourth-round pick in the 2022 CFL Draft by the B.C. Lions. He dressed for 42 regular-season games with the team, making 42 defensive tackles, 18 special teams tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.

The 27-year-old played collegiately at Saint Mary’s University, where he made 37 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery over 21 games.

“Adrian has established himself as a top corner in our league,” said Stampeders head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson. “I am excited to continue watching him grow and build with the Stampeders.”

The Calgary Stampeders weren’t very active in CFL free agency, though they signed former Toronto Argonauts receiver Dejon Brissett, who set a career-high with 907 receiving yards in 2025. The Stampeders didn’t lose any free agents to other CFL teams but had three players sign in the NFL: receiver Damien Alford (New Orleans Saints), defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings (Minnesota Vikings), and linebacker Jacob Roberts (Minnesota Vikings).

The Stampeders hold the sixth overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Calgary will play its first preseason game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Monday, May 18 and its first regular-season game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday, June 5.

In 2025, Calgary finished third in the West Division standings with an 11-7 record but lost the West Semi-Final to the B.C. Lions.
