Former CFL defensive end Pete Robertson has been hired by the University of the Incarnate Word as their outside linebackers coach.
The 33-year-old last suited up for the B.C. Lions in 2024, making 20 defensive tackles and two sacks over 12 games. He was released the following January.
Robertson began his CFL career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2021. He would go on to play 42 games in green and white, recording 86 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, 21 sacks, six forced fumbles, and one interception.
In 2023, Robertson was suspended one game by the league for a head-butt against Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros in the Labour Day Classic. He later apologized for his actions, calling it “a mistake I made as a man.”
Prior to signing in the CFL, Robertson played in six career NFL games and notched four tackles. He spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders.
The Longview, Texas native went undrafted after playing five seasons at Texas Tech University. He made 227 career tackles, 22 sacks, 39.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, one touchdown, eight pass knockdowns, seven forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 52 career games. In his junior season, he was named second-team All-Big 12.
Incarnate Word’s defensive coordinator is Ben Olson, who served as Robertson’s defensive line coach for two seasons in Saskatchewan. The Cardinals went 5-7 in 2025.
