The Toronto Argonauts are bringing in a trio of players to give them a boost in the competitive East Division.
Toronto has signed American receiver Josh Huff, American offensive lineman Thaddeus Coleman, and American linebacker Brady Sheldon.
Huff was released last week by Calgary after playing in nine games for the Stampeders this season, picking up 507 yards on 37 receptions while also returning punts for the red and white. In 19 career games with Calgary, the 30-year-old Houston native had 74 catches for 998 yards and one touchdown.
The former Oregon Duck also picked up 66 yards in the Stamps West Semi-Final loss to Winnipeg in 2019.
Before coming to the Stamps, Huff spent some time in the NFL after being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round, 86th overall during the 2014 NFL Draft. He played 34 games for the Eagles from 2014-2016 while also playing three games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016. In 37 career NFL games, Huff had 51 catches for 523 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Coleman was not re-signed by Saskatchewan after the 2019 season that saw him play 17 games at right tackle for the Riders and lined up there for the West Division Final against Winnipeg. He was a reliable protector on the front side for right-handed quarterback Cody Fajardo.
The six-foot-seven, 320-pounder played NCAA football at Mississippi Valley State University where he was selected to the Southwestern Athletic Conference first-team two times in 2006 and 2007.
The 28-year-old Shelton comes north after a stint in the NFL (2017-2021) that saw him play for the then-Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, and New York Jets.
