The reigning Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers will kick off the 2021 regular season with a 107th Grey Cup rematch against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday, June 10.
The Bombers’ 2021 calendar features three Thursday Night Football games and two Friday evening games as well as two additional West Division games. Starting with the Banjo Bowl, the Bombers will close out the season with four Saturday fall games.
After a Week 2 trip to Montreal, the Bombers face the Edmonton Football Team for a home-and-home series June 25 at IG Field and July 3 at Brick Field. The team is then home for Week 5 to host the Alouettes July 8 for Thursday Night Football before the first bye week of the schedule. After a Week 7 trip to Calgary, the team returns home to host the BC Lions Friday, July 30.
The Bombers kick-off the month of August with a trip to Ottawa, followed by a Week 10 bye and another trip East to Hamilton before returning to IG Field August 26 to host the Lions. September starts in Regina for the annual Labour Day Classic September 5.
The Roughriders then visit Winnipeg for the highly anticipated Banjo Bowl on Saturday, September 11 at 3:00 p.m.
“The early release of the 2021 schedule is a positive step towards our return to play plan for the 2021 season,” president Wade Miller said. “We can’t wait to get back to IG Field and properly celebrate our 2019 championship with the province.”
The CFL is planning to return to play in 2021 with a full slate of games that kicks off in Winnipeg June 10 and concludes with the 108th Grey Cup in Hamilton on November 21.
