Montreal Alouettes bring back veteran Dylan Wynn: report

The Montreal Alouettes are bringing back veteran defensive tackle Dylan Wynn, according to a report from TSN’s Farhan Lalji.

Wynn signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in free agency this offseason but was released following training camp. According to his social media accounts, he has been coaching at De La Salle High School in California while waiting for his next CFL opportunity.

The 33-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Alouettes. He recorded 20 defensive tackles and one sack in 14 regular-season games last year, along with three tackles plus one sack in three playoff contests. In 2024, he played in 16 regular-season games, starting 12, while recording 18 defensive tackles.

The six-foot-two, 290-pounder arrived in the CFL in 2017 with the Toronto Argonauts, where he spent two seasons, before a four-year stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2019 through 2023. He has recorded 211 defensive tackles and 30 sacks over 107 career regular-season CFL games, earning East Division all-star recognition three times (2017, 2019, 2021) and one All-CFL selection (2019). The Oregon State product helped Toronto win a Grey Cup title as a rookie in 2017.

The Montreal Alouettes (11-3) are on a bye in Week 17, but will return to action on Saturday, October 3, when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7-7). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
