Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign former Alouettes, Elks running back Rushawn Baker, add three others

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed four Americans to their practice roster, including running back Rushawn Baker, offensive lineman Noah Henderson, defensive lineman Trajan Jeffcoat, and defensive back Robert McDaniel.

Baker arrives in Hamilton after playing three games for the Montreal Alouettes earlier this season, carrying the ball 10 times for 31 yards. He was previously in training camp with the Edmonton Elks, after stints with the New York Giants and New England Patriots in 2025.

The 23-year-old wrapped up his collegiate career at Elon University in 2024, rushing 183 times for 859 yards and nine touchdowns to earn honourable mention all-conference honours. He transferred after three seasons at Bucknell University, where he recorded 335 carries for 1,359 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Henderson has spent the past three seasons in the United Football League, spending time with the Birmingham Stallions, Memphis Showboats, and Arlington Renegades. He appeared in 28 total UFL games and made 11 starts.

The six-foot-five, 310-pound blocker played three seasons at East Carolina University, appearing in 33 games with 25 starts. He was a two-time team captain.

Jeffcoat concluded his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas, where he recorded 16 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and four sacks in 12 games and led the team with 29 quarterback pressures. He transferred after five seasons at the University of Missouri, where he suited up for 40 contests and compiled 84 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was named first-team All-SEC in 2020.

The six-foot-four, 265-pound pass rusher signed with the New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and spent time on the practice roster, but did not appear in an NFL game.

McDaniel played at Jackson State University in 2024, where he recorded 54 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. The 25-year-old began his college career with the Tigers in 2019, but made stops at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Alcorn State before returning as a senior.

The 25-year-old was in training camp with the Washington Commanders in 2025 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2026, but did not make the active roster.
