The B.C. Lions will be without starting defensive end Levi Bell when they face the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
Bell did not practice this week due to a head injury. In 11 games this year, the 27-year-old has recorded 19 defensive tackles and two sacks.
Veteran pass rusher Lorenzo Mauldin IV will step into the starting role for the Lions, while Shaun Peterson Jr. has been activated from the practice roster for depth. Backup defensive tackle David Gusta is also unable to go this week due to a head injury.
Defensive back Ronald Kent Jr. will make his return to the lineup after serving a one-game suspension for instigating a sideline altercation against Montreal, but will not start. Canadian Cristophe Beaulieu moves to nickel, while Deontai Williams will switch into his field halfback spot. Thomas Graham has been placed back on the practice roster.
Lawrence Woods III is also back in the lineup after an injury absence. He is expected to provide depth in the secondary, while handling primary return duties.
The B.C. Lions (8-6) will visit the Toronto Argonauts (9-6) on Saturday, October 3, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Lions are coming off a win over Saskatchewan that launched them to second place in the West Division, while the Argonauts extended their winning streak to four games with a victory over Winnipeg.
The game will be broadcast on TSN, CTV, and Crave in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver and TSN 1050 in Toronto.
