Saskatchewan Roughriders can clinch CFL playoff berth in Week 17

The Saskatchewan Roughriders can punch their ticket to the playoffs as early as this week, the CFL confirmed on Wednesday.

The Green and White can clinch a postseason berth with a win over the B.C. Lions, provided the Winnipeg Blue Bombers lose to the Toronto Argonauts, and the Calgary Stampeders lose to the Ottawa Redblacks.

Saskatchewan is 1-1 against the Lions so far this season, having won 31-17 at Mosaic Stadium in June and lost 30-16 at BC Place Stadium in August. This week’s matchup, which will be played in Vancouver, will decide the season series.

The Roughriders have made the playoffs for two-straight seasons, having won the 112th Grey Cup last November. They currently sit second place in the West Division at 8-5.

As has been previously announced, the Montreal Alouettes, Edmonton Elks, and Toronto Argonauts have each clinched postseason berths, while the Ottawa Redblacks have been eliminated from playoff contention.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-5) will visit the B.C. Lions (7-6) on Friday, September 25 with kickoff scheduled for 10:30 p.m. EDT. Both teams were on bye this past week.

The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 620 CKRM in Regina or 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver.
