The Toronto Argonauts have cut incumbent starting offensive lineman Anthony Vandal, the team announced on Sunday.
The 27-year-old made 15 starts at guard this past season — 12 at right guard and three at left guard.
The native of Sorel-Tracy, Que. was originally an eighth-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft out of the Université de Sherbrooke. He returned to school for his final year of collegiate eligibility that year before signing back with the Argonauts in 2024, helping them win the Grey Cup.
Some other players with starting experience the Argonauts released were American running back Peyton Logan, Canadian offensive lineman John Bosse, American linebacker Aaron Casey, and Canadian defensive back Tyshon Blackburn.

The team has also established a 13-man practice roster including Canadian running back Weagbe Mombo, American receivers Soloman Davis and Tyler Kahmann, Canadian receiver Tristan Ready, Canadian offensive lineman Anim Dankwah, American offensive lineman Rush Reimer, American defensive linemen Denzel Daxon and Jason Compoh, American linebacker James Neal, American defensive backs Theran Johnson, Alex Teubner, and Anthony Wilson, and American kicker Reed Martin.
The Toronto Argonauts opened training camp on May 10. The team won 20-10 in its first preseason game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, then lost 20-14 to Hamilton on Friday, May 29. Final roster cuts were due on Saturday, May 30. The team will play its first regular-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, June 12.
Toronto recently selected Queen’s offensive lineman Niklas Henning with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, though he’s since signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. The team’s other major offseason additions include offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley, strong-side linebacker Adarius Pickett, and defensive back DaShaun Amos.
In 2025, the Argonauts finished third in the East Division standings with a 5-13 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Mike Miller was promoted to the role of head coach following the departure of Ryan Dinwiddie.
