The Montreal Alouettes have extended American receiver Cole Spieker through 2026.
The six-foot-two, 215-pound target has started 15 games for the team this season at slotback, making 49 catches for 710 yards and seven touchdowns.
“Cole always shows up on the field when we call his name,” said general manager Danny Maciocia in a statement. “He is able to play on the inside as a receiver as well as on the outside. His versatility adds a lot to our team. We know that when he touches the ball, it’s going to stay in his hands and our quarterbacks have great confidence in him.”
The native of Brainerd, Minn. joined the Alouettes in 2022 and has since made 88 receptions for 1,204 yards and nine touchdowns.
The product of University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, a Division III program, made 144 catches for 2,338 yards and 26 touchdowns over 30 collegiate games.
The Montreal Alouettes (11-3-1) are currently on bye after clinching first place in the East Division.
