Davis Alexander comeback vs. Riders leads Week 8 CFL television ratings

The Montreal Alouettes second-half comeback against the Saskatchewan Roughriders produced the highest-rated game in Week 8 on the CFL schedule.

Shea Patterson, Frankie Hickson and Corey Mace’s defence had the Riders up 16-3 at halftime, but the Als countered by putting Davis Alexander in at quarterback to start the third quarter. He completed 12 straight passes on the way to finishing 15-of-18 for 178 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The third-year CFL QB lived up to the hype about him and then some. That excitement led to a sizeable combined English and French TV rating. Most impressive was the 201,100 average people in the 25-54 age demographic who watched the battle of division leaders.

Even though the Toronto Blue Jays were on Apple TV Friday night, the Stampeders and Redblacks game did not draw well on television. The Jays had afternoon start times on Saturday (523,900) and Sunday (496,700) while sweeping the three-game set with the Texas Rangers.
