The Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers provided a classic CFL barn burner in Week 6 and brought in a television audience to match.
There were 78 total points, 925 combined offensive yards, and multiple lead changes in a thriller that Winnipeg won 41-37 on a Zach Collaros to Nic Demski touchdown pass. The two-time Grey Cup winner outduelled Jake Maier in a close contest at Princess Auto Stadium, finally recording a TD pass and producing his best game to date in 2024.
Rookie Bombers’ receiver Ontaria ‘Pokey’ Wilson didn’t quite catch ’em all but he brought in 13 of his 16 targets for 201 yards and one touchdown. His grandma thought Wilson looked like a Pokemon when he was a baby and that nickname has been around ever since.
Fellow first-year pass catcher Kalil Pimpleton also popped off in his CFL debut for the Redblacks. The five-foot-seven, 175-pound speedster posted four receptions for 153 yards and one electric touchdown. That catch-and-run TD had Pimpleton trending across the country on Sunday night.

Arguably Pimpleton’s most important catch came in the final seconds as Dru Brown hit him for a 29-yard gain which set up a walk-off, game-winning field goal. Ottawa stunned the Elks 37-34 and that loss caused the Green and Gold to fire head coach and general manager Chris Jones.
