The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without Shawn Bane Jr. when they take on the Toronto Argonauts on Thursday night due to personal reasons.

The five-foot-nine, 178-pound target has caught 13 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns over three games this season. He ranks second on the team in receiving yardage and first in receiving touchdowns.

The 29-year-old had a breakout campaign in 2023, his first in Saskatchewan, catching 93 passes for 1,104 yards and four touchdowns. He finished the year seventh in receiving yardage league-wide and third in yards after the catch.

The Northwest Missouri State product started his CFL career as a member of the Calgary Stampeders. He played 13 games over two seasons with the team, making 24 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns and returning 25 punts for 262 yards and 14 kickoffs for 294 yards.

The Riders will also be without quarterback Trevor Harris (knee), running back Thomas Bertrand-Hudon (head), and linebacker Adam Auclair (shoulder) this week.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-0) will host the Toronto Argonauts (2-1) on Thursday, July 4 with kickoff slated for 9:00 p.m. EDT.
