The Montreal Alouettes have released American defensive back Myles Brooks and American linebacker Latavious Brini.

Brooks dressed for the team’s recent 23-20 victory over the Montreal Alouettes, recording one special teams tackle.

The six-foot-one, 198-pound defender signed with the Dallas Cowboys after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but was waived following training camp. He was named second-team All-CUSA in 2022 as a member of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, earning an invitation to the NFL Combine.

Brini made Montreal’s practice roster following training camp and did not dress for either of the team’s recent regular season wins.

The 25-year-old native of Miami Garden, Fla. signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2023 but was released at the end of training camp.

The six-foot-two, 215-pound cover man recorded 55 tackles, four tackles for loss, one interception, and one forced fumble at the University of Arkansas in 2022. He previously played at the University of Georgia where he won a National Championship in 2018.

The Montreal Alouettes (2-0) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (1-0) on Thursday, June 20 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
