Montreal Alouettes sign three, including former NFL receiver Tyjon Lindsey

The Montreal Alouettes have signed three players with NFL experience, including receiver Tyjon Lindsey, defensive lineman Jerron Cage, and defensive back Bryce Cosby.

Lindsey signed with the Seattle Seahawks after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but was waived at the conclusion of training camp. He rejoined the team on the practice roster a few weeks later on Sept. 20 but was released again on Nov. 8.

The five-foot-nine, 182-pound target made 75 catches for 917 yards and nine touchdowns over 39 collegiate games at Oregon State University and ran the ball 25 times for 184 yards and three scores. He originally committed to the University of Nebraska.

Cage signed with the New Orleans Saints after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but was released as part of the team’s final cuts. The six-foot-four, 310-pound defender played 30 games over five seasons at Ohio State University, recording 34 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, one pass knockdown, and three fumble recoveries.

Cosby was in training camp with the Las Vegas Raiders this past season but was waived near its conclusion. The five-foot-nine, 188-pound cover man recorded 228 total tackles, 10 interceptions, 26 pass knockdowns, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries over five season at Ball State. He was named first-team All-MAC in 2020.
