The Regina Thunder and Westshore Rebels will meet in the upcoming Canadian Bowl, the championship game of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).

Regina crushed the previously undefeated Sault College Cougars in the national semifinal game this past Friday. The team built a commanding 30-0 lead at halftime and held on to win 44-15. Peter Boersch rushed 26 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Westshore beat the Langley Rams on Saturday to win the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) by a score of 27-16. The Rebels recorded 659 yards of total offence and 32 first downs in the victory, both of which set new Cullen Cup records.

The Thunder most recently played in the Canadian Bowl in 2022 when they lost 21-19 to the Okanagan Sun. The team has won one CJFL championship, beating the Vancouver Island Raiders by a score of 55-26 in 2013.

Westshore has made two previous appearances in the Canadian Bowl, losing both to the Saskatchewan Hilltops in 2016 and 2023.

The Canadian Bowl will be played on Sunday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. PT at Starlight Stadium in Langford, B.C.
