The Houston Texans have waived Canadian offensive lineman Sidy Sow, KPRC2 reporter Aaron Wilson reported on Monday.
The six-foot-five, 318-pound blocker dressed for two regular-season games with the team in 2025, making one start at guard. After finishing the year on Houston’s practice roster, Sow signed a future/reserve contract for 2026 in January.
The native of Bromont, Que. was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He made 14 starts over two seasons with the team but was released as part of the club’s final cuts last fall.

Sow played six collegiate seasons with Eastern Michigan University, where he made 54 career starts, setting an all-time school record. He was named first-team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) in both 2021 and 2022 and third-team All-MAC in 2020.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders selected Sow in the sixth round of the 2023 CFL Draft. If he chooses to play in the CFL in the future, Sow will have to sign with the Roughriders.
According to Spotrac, Sow has earned nearly $2.8 million USD to date in the NFL.
The Texans finished second in the AFC South standings in 2025 at 12-5.
