The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American receiver Rashod Owens.

The six-foot-two, 218-pound target began the season on the Calgary Stampeders’ practice roster, but was released on July 20. He made four catches for 59 yards in the preseason, all of which came in the team’s second exhibition game.

The native of San Antonio, Texas, played collegiately at Oklahoma State University, where he made 120 receptions for 1,771 yards and 10 touchdowns in 52 games.

Owens attended training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and recorded three catches for 25 yards during the preseason, though he was waived before the start of the regular season.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-2) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (3-6) at Hamilton Stadium on Saturday, August 15, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Roughriders easily beat the Ottawa Redblacks last week, while the Tiger-Cats suffered a narrow loss to the B.C. Lions.

The weather forecast in Hamilton calls for 24 degrees and sun. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 620 CKRM in Regina or the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton.
