The Edmonton Elks have signed Canadian offensive lineman Arvin Hosseini, the team announced on Monday.

The six-foot-four, 310-pound blocker was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week.

The 22-year-old was originally selected in the third round of the 2025 CFL Draft. He dressed for two regular-season games as a rookie with Hamilton.

Hosseini played 16 collegiate games at the University of British Columbia, where he was named a Canada West all-star in 2024.

The Elks have also released American linebacker Jadon Pearson.

The six-foot-one, 222-pound defender attended training camp with the team and dressed for both preseason games.

The 25-year-old was released amid final roster cuts, then brought back after injured piled up at the position. Over two regular-season games, he didn’t register any statistics.

The native of Gilbert, Ariz. finished his collegiate career at Fresno State University in 2025, where he made 106 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three pass knockdowns, one forced fumble, and 0.5 sacks.

The Edmonton Elks (6-1) will host the Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-2) at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, August 1 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met in Regina this past week, where Vincent Blanchard kicked a walk-off 57-yard game-winning field goal.

The weather forecast in Edmonton calls for a high of 24 degrees and a 30 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 620 CKRM in Regina or 880 CHED in Edmonton.
