The Montreal Alouettes have brought back American defensive back Faion Hicks, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old attended training camp with the team in Quebec City but was let go prior to the start of the regular-season.

The five-foot-ten, 192-pound defender was a seventh-round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played two regular-season games with the team and recorded two total tackles, though he was released at the conclusion of training camp in 2023.

The native of Pembroke Pines, Fla. has been a member of the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Seattle Seahawks since leaving the Broncos but didn’t see any regular-season action with any of those teams. He also signed with the Birmingham Stallions in 2025.

Hicks played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin where he made 107 total tackles, 16 pass knockdown, and one interception over 39 collegiate games.

The Montreal Alouettes (2-1) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (0-2) at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday, June 28 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Redblacks lost 44-24 to the Toronto Argonauts last week, while the Alouettes lost to the Edmonton Elks in overtime.

The weather forecast calls for a high of 28 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on TSN 1200 in Ottawa or TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal.
