Longtime TSN reporter Sara Orlesky has been hired as a senior host and producer with the Winnipeg Jets where she will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the team.
The Winnipeg native was a staple on the sidelines for the CFL on TSN for well over a decade and covered the last 13 Grey Cups. She has also previously covered the Stanley Cup Finals, IIHF World Junior Championships, and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Orlesky indicated through her Twitter account that her final game with the CFL on TSN will be the Banjo Bown in Winnipeg on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The CFL on TSN tweeted a message of support to Orlesky shortly after the news was announced: Congratulations to @saraorlesky, who has been a key part of our #CFLonTSN broadcasts. Best wishes in your new adventure!
Orlesky will also assume the role of co-producer and host for a new post-game show with the Jets. She will also provide pre-game hits with pertinent gameday information.
“Having covered the Jets since day one, I know how incredibly passionate fans are about this team,” Orlesky said in a statement. “I’m excited to join the organization and help provide fans with new and exciting coverage of their favourite players and team.”
Through a partnership with TSN, Orlesky will continue to make regular appearances during Jets ON TSN broadcasts, bringing insider insights and features to viewers.
“Sara has been a fan-favourite in sports broadcasting and we are thrilled to add her talents to the Jets content team,” said Winnipeg’s vice president of content and communications Kelly Shouldice. “In this role, Sara will spearhead new in-depth, multi-platform Jets content, bringing fans closer to the team, players and coaches.”
