The Calgary Stampeders are making a change at cornerback ahead of Friday’s clash with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Canadian starter Adrian Greene has been placed on the reserve roster this week and will not play. He was not listed on the injury report at any point this week. The native of Toronto, Ont., took over the top job to the field side after joining the Stampeders in 2025, collecting 39 defensive tackles and six interceptions. He has been benched at times in 2026 in favour of fellow Canadian Ben Labrosse, who is currently on the injured list, but has still recorded 28 defensive tackles and an interception in 12 games.

American rookie Lance Boykin, who made three tackles in his CFL debut last week, is currently listed as the starter on the field side, with veteran Canadian Godfrey Onyeka backing up. The two could split reps, as veteran American safety Damon Webb is listed as a designated nationalized American behind Canadian youngster Ashton Miller-Melancon, which will allow him to sub in for a Canadian starter for up to 25 plays but replace Boykin an unlimited number of times.

Friday will also see veteran American receiver Reggie Begelton return to the lineup after recovering from a head injury. The three-time CFL all-star missed the first two-thirds of the season while recovering from a broken leg and has appeared in just two games, catching five passes for 63 yards.

Veteran defensive lineman Charles Wiley and Canadian linebacker Eric Rascoe will both return to the lineup in depth roles. Receiver Jeremiah Hunter and defensive lineman Daniel Grzesiak have both been returned to the practice roster.

The Calgary Stampeders (7-8) will host the Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-6) on Friday, October 2, with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 p.m. EDT. The Roughriders are coming off a loss to B.C. that bumped them to third place in the West Division, while the Stampeders completed their two-game sweep of Ottawa.

The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 620 CKRM in Regina and 770 CHQR in Calgary.
