Former CFL kicker Boris Bede has signed with the Paris Lights of American Football League Europe (AFLE), the team announced on Thursday.
The 36-year-old most recently played for the Edmonton Elks in 2024, when he connected on 27-of-34 field goal attempts (79.4 percent) and 38-of-39 convert attempts (97.4 percent) over 16 regular-season games.
The six-foot-four, 225-pound specialist originally started his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes in 2015, earning an All-East Division selection that same season. He was traded to the Toronto Argonauts in 2020 and spent three seasons with the Boatmen, earning two All-East Division selections and winning one Grey Cup.
In total, Bede played 144 regular-season CFL games, made 276-of-332 field goal attempts (83.1 percent), and 275-of-296 convert attempts (92.9 percent). He also punted 649 times for a gross average of 44.5 yards.
The native of Toulon, France played collegiately at Université Laval, where he won two Vanier Cups.
