Baltimore Ravens sign Saskatchewan Roughriders draft pick Kyle Hergel

The Baltimore Ravens have signed Canadian offensive lineman Kyle Hergel to their practice roster, the team announced on Wednesday. The move came after Baltimore suffered two injuries along the offensive line during its 34-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Hergel recently attended training camp with the Chicago Bears and initially made the team’s practice roster before being cut last week. He played in all three of the club’s preseason games, and allowed two pressures over 134 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

The six-foot-three, 302-pound blocker first signed with Chicago last November and remained there until the Bears were eliminated from postseason contention.

The Toronto native went unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent and dressed for eight regular-season games with the team, playing 45 offensive snaps and 26 special teams snaps. He attended training camp with the Saints in 2025 but was waived upon its conclusion.

The 26-year-old played his final collegiate season at Boston College in 2023, where he was named an All-ACC honourable mention at guard. He spent the two previous seasons at Texas State, where he was named third-team All-Sun Belt in 2022.

According to Spotrac, Hergel has earned $1 million over the course of his NFL career.

His exclusive CFL rights belong to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who selected him in the first round of the 2024 CFL Draft.
