Sources have confirmed to 3DownNation that Mombo is going back to school to finish his final year of collegiate eligibility at Windsor.

The Argonauts have also signed Canadian defensive lineman Gabriel Maisonneuve and Canadian defensive back Istvan Assibo-Dadzie.

Maisonneuve was a fifth-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes, though he never dressed for a regular-season game with the team. He was released at the conclusion of training camp this year.

The native of Gatineau, Que. played collegiately at the Université de Montréal, where he recorded 47 tackles, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles over 31 games. He was named a first-team U Sports All-Canadian in 2025 and helped the Carabins win the Vanier Cup in 2023.

Assibo-Dadzie was a fourth-round pick of the Argonauts in the 2025 CFL Draft out of Windsor, and spent part of his rookie year on the practice roster.

The 24-year-old native of Brampton, Ont. recorded 86.5 tackles and five interceptions over 30 collegiate games with the Lancers, earning a first-team OUA all-star selection in 2024. He was also named a second-team OUA all-star in 2023.

The Toronto Argonauts (4-5) will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-6) at BMO Field on Saturday, August 22 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Tiger-Cats are coming off a 26-19 upset win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders, while the Argonauts got blown out by the Edmonton Elks by a score of 42-12.

The weather forecast in Toronto calls for a high of 23 degrees and a 40 percent chance of rain. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally.
