Graphic: 3DownNation

Calgary has been selected as the host city for the 2027 CFL Combine, sources have confirmed to 3DownNation. Mark Stephen was the first to report the news.

Exact details are not yet known, though the event is expected to be held during the week of March 15 to accommodate the CFL’s earlier start date next season.

The 2026 CFL Combine was held in Edmonton from March 27 to 29, the second time it was held in the Alberta capital in four years. Regina hosted in 2025, and Winnipeg held the event in 2024.

Prior to Edmonton’s first hosting stint in 2023, the event was regularly held in Toronto or, for a brief period, in the same location as CFL Week offseason events. CFL cities now have the opportunity to bid to host the Combine, just as they do for the Grey Cup.

Over the course of multiple days, invited players eligible for the 2027 CFL Canadian and Global Drafts will participate in athletic testing and padded on-field practices in front of coaches and scouts from across the league. They will also undergo interviews and medical testing, allowing teams to make informed decisions on draft day.

The 2027 CFL Canadian Draft is tentatively scheduled for April 13, while the Global Draft will follow on April 14.

The Combine is the second consecutive major CFL event to take place in Calgary, as McMahon Stadium will also host the 114th Grey Cup on November 7, 2026.
